Plein Air Watercolor Workshop 25th Anniversary

Here is your chance to paint out doors, in a fabulous place full of vast vistas, old town structures and plenty of vintage subject matter. You will paint out doors with Sandy Imperatori, an experienced plein air watercolor painter as your guide. Sandy has been teaching this workshop at St. Mary’s Art Center for 24 years. You will step back in time and relax at the historic St. Mary’s Art Center where we will experience the heritage of the Washoe Mountains, beautiful light, western landscapes, wild horses and clear clean air. The stars are amazing without pollution!
The group will go out every morning to paint on location. Sandy will usually do a short demo in the morning leaving enough time for you to painton on location. The group stops for lunch about noon. Afternoon painting is optional but Sandy will be available in the afternoons. She works with each artist on a personal and individual basis since there will be all levels of experience in the group. There will be a short and helpful critique and cocktail hour each evening before dinner. After dinner many participants like to to sit on the porch, enjoy the art work exhibited in the galleries at St. Mary’s, or retire to their room. Occasionally people go up to town and see the sights.Those who prefer to work in the studio may do so until 10PM.
